I have been a committed flag football player for almost 13 years now. A few years ago, I tore my ACL playing the sport which left me short one stable knee. God knows I tried to play, but my knee would just buckle when I got up to speed. I was unable to play my sport while I waited for the surgery and unable to play my sport while I rehabbed. I was a devastated football enthusiast to say the least.
During this waiting and rehab time, I committed myself to mostly work which left my body and metabolism in shambles. When I returned to my sport, I was NOT the same player as I had always been before the injury, which hurts the ego for someone of my competitive level. I did not like being slow and unmaneuverable on the field…I became an easy target to pick apart on the field, and certainly not an asset to any team.
Realizing the situation I had got myself into, I decided to fix it. Since I already get plenty of exercise, I really needed guidance on what I was doing wrong for nutrition. Turns out, my metabolism stunk and I needed to really give it a kick in the pants.
I went to see Dr. Mead for some guidance and seek some next steps. I really need to perform on the field and being in a leadership roll on my football team, I really can’t tell people what to do when I can’t do it myself. “Those who can’t do, teach” doesn’t sit well with me.
Adeola did a comprehensive analysis on what was going on inside and outside. From the first time I stepped on her scale and got my plan, to the 25 lbs lost to date, Adeola has really been a massive support and I couldn’t be back in top form without your help.
Now having played my first successful season back on the field, and being able to maneuver around people, hearing their frustration because they can’t flag me is so rewarding and encouraging.
Since I have lost the 25lbs, countless numbers of people want to know my secret…which I gladly share with everyone who asks.
So from the bottom of my heart Adeola, thank you for bring me back. Although, the other teams aren’t happy to see me back as their opposition, but man alive it feels good to hear them whisper…”she is back”.
